Westhaven Community, a ministry of the Evangelical Free Church, is located in Boone, Iowa. We intentionally provide compassionate loving care to our residents. We believe in Christ-centered core values of loving God first and best and loving our residents and community as ourselves. Our fulltime Chaplain, Rev. Bryan Latchaw provides regular church services, Bible studies, one to one visits, and other spiritual cares. He partners with resident’s home church/parish clergy and together, our residents are prayed for, supported, and encouraged. As a part of this partnership, several area pastors provide services, visitation, devotionals, and pastoral care to their parishioners and to our greater population. Our residents are afforded the opportunity to participate in various ministries including in house, local community, and international missions.
Westhaven Community strives to be a premier Christ-centered facility with an emphasis on each individual’s spiritual care, as well as medical, social, mental/emotional, dietary and ‘family’ care. Westhaven Community is dedicated to providing our residents the highest attainable quality care and services that allow each individual to feel loved and valued in our comfortable homelike community. We offer a holistic approach in meeting needs so that each resident is treated with value, dignity, respect, and sensitivity. In addition, we purposefully include the resident’s family as a vital part of their care and each is encouraged to visit, participate in activities and chapel services as well as volunteer and engage in the life of our community.
